Fibre Select is a dissolvable fibre powder that I mixed into water or food, and I tried it because my digestion had become sluggish and I wanted a simple add-on to my routine. I was mainly hoping to feel regular again without feeling stuffed or uncomfortable.
I used it as a powder, once a day most days, for just over six weeks. My easiest routine was one scoop in a big glass of still water after breakfast, then I topped it up with more water and finished that too. It dissolved better than I expected, but it still needed a proper stir. If I left it sitting even for a minute, it started to thicken at the bottom.
I also tested it in plain yogurt a few times when I was in a hurry. That worked, but the texture went a bit gluey, which I didn’t love. In water it tasted neutral, and I preferred that because sweet fibre drinks usually make me feel slightly queasy. I also learned to sprinkle the powder in slowly while stirring, because tipping it in too fast made it clump. One small nuisance was the film it left on the glass if I didn’t rinse it straight away.
The first three or four days changed very little. I kept checking for some dramatic effect and felt a bit silly because nothing obvious happened. By the end of the first week, though, my mornings felt more predictable. I was going more regularly, and it felt easier, with less straining. Around week two, I noticed that heavy, stuck feeling I used to get in the late afternoon was fading. It wasn’t a big transformation, just a steadier gut routine that made the day feel less awkward.
Week three was when I really started to think it was worth keeping. My bowel movements were more consistent from day to day, and I had fewer of those half-days where you feel the urge but can’t quite go. I also felt slightly less bloated after meals. It didn’t flatten my stomach, and it didn’t cancel out bloating from a heavy meal, but it did ease the random puffiness I had been noticing. One thing I didn’t expect was a small drop in mid-morning snacking on days when I took it with plenty of water.
I did notice a few downsides, and they mattered enough that I had to adjust how I used it.
- More gas in the first 10 days: It wasn’t painful, but it was noticeable.
- Sludgy texture if I waited too long: I had to drink it fairly quickly once mixed.
- One constipated day when I under-drank: The fibre without enough fluid backfired on me.
- Mild tummy gurgling early on: A couple of times I felt it about an hour after taking it.
The timing mattered too. If I took it late in the day, I sometimes felt too full at bedtime. Morning worked better for me. I also learned that this kind of product does make you pay attention to your habits, because the water intake really mattered.
I think Fibre Select suits someone who wants gentle support and is willing to use it consistently. It felt like a practical fibre top-up, especially if your normal diet is short on fibre or you want something with a pretty neutral taste. I would skip it if you hate texture changes, because even dissolved fibre still feels like fibre. I’d also be careful if you already bloat easily, since the first week can be gassy, and I wouldn’t take it at the same moment as medicines where timing matters without checking what makes sense.
I didn’t treat it like a medicine, and I didn’t expect any dramatic detox effect from it. I treated it like a daily fibre top-up, and that felt more honest. By the end of six weeks, I felt more regular, less backed up, and less irritated by my digestion. I would buy it again, as long as I kept the same expectations: it helped, but it asked for consistency and enough water.
