Testolan is a capsule-based dietary supplement that I tried when my gym sessions felt flat and I wanted steadier training energy without leaning on extra coffee. It was also a time when I had noticed less interest in sex than usual, so I was hoping for a modest lift rather than a miracle.
I took it for eight weeks. The directions were two capsules twice a day, ideally about 30 minutes before food, with around 300 ml of water, and I kept to that as closely as I could. The routine mattered more than I expected. I took the first pair before breakfast and the second before my evening meal, and I set phone reminders because I twice remembered the capsules only after I had already eaten.
The capsules were easy enough to swallow, but if I used too little water I got a dry, powdery feeling at the back of my throat. When I opened the container, there was a faint herbal smell. The formula included fenugreek, Tribulus terrestris, D-aspartic acid, maca root, Korean ginseng root, ginger rhizome, pomegranate seed, magnesium, phosphatidylserine, vitamin E and black pepper. I treated it as a supplement, not a replacement for sleep, food or proper training.
The first week did not do much at all. I felt no rush of energy and no obvious change in mood or strength, and that actually kept me from talking myself into fake progress. During the second week, I started noticing that my afternoon slump was less severe on training days. I still got tired after work, but I was less tempted to skip the gym. By week three, I was finishing my usual sessions without dragging through the last sets, and my rest periods felt a little easier to manage. I even added a couple of repetitions to some exercises, though I would call that a small improvement rather than a sudden boost.
The libido side was similar. Around the third or fourth week, I noticed a mild lift, mostly as a feeling that I was less mentally switched off by the end of the day. It did not transform my sex life, and stress still had far more influence on that than Testolan did. I also did not measure my testosterone before or after, so I cannot honestly say it raised it. What I can say is that it helped me stay more consistent with training through the course instead of letting tiredness turn into missed sessions.
I did notice a few downsides along the way. The second dose occasionally gave me mild heartburn, especially when I took it too close to a heavy meal. A few mornings, I had a warm, slightly unsettled stomach for about 20 minutes. My urine also turned brighter yellow at times, which was harmless-looking but still caught my attention. By week six, four capsules a day felt like a chore, especially on weekends when my routine was less structured.
- I needed full glasses of water to avoid throat dryness.
- The evening dose felt better earlier, not late.
- Mild digestive irritation was real for me.
- The schedule was fussy enough to need reminders.
My sleep did not improve. On two nights when I took the evening capsules late, I felt a bit more alert when I wanted to wind down, so I moved that dose earlier after that. Testolan also did nothing for my shoulder discomfort, which came from poor pressing form and needed rest and better technique, not capsules. I also did not lose body fat just from taking it. My weight barely moved during the first month, and any later leaning out happened after I tightened my evening snacking.
I think it suited me because I already had a decent training routine and was looking for a modest nudge in energy and motivation. It may suit an adult man who can take it consistently, eats reasonably well, and keeps his expectations realistic. I would skip it if you expect rapid muscle gain, effortless fat loss, or a guaranteed rise in testosterone. I would also avoid using it as a fix for low libido, persistent fatigue, fertility concerns, or suspected hormone problems, because those can have many causes and should not be guessed at with a supplement alone. If you take regular medication or manage an ongoing condition, I would want proper medical advice first.
Would I buy it again? I would consider it again for a focused training block because I did find the small energy lift useful. I would not make it a permanent part of my routine, and I would not buy it expecting it to change my body or hormone levels on its own.
