Normcontrol is a dietary supplement that I tried for weight control and to have a calmer attitude towards afternoon cravings for sweets. I wanted to reduce impulsive snacking without feeling tired, and I took it as part of a stricter regimen rather than as a meal replacement.
I took one tablet in the morning with water, usually after breakfast. This way, it felt easier on my stomach because I don’t tolerate supplements well on an empty stomach. I followed the instructions and didn’t increase the dosage, although sometimes I wished the results would come faster.
How it affected me
In the first week, I didn’t see any change in weight. I only felt a slight dryness in my mouth around lunchtime, which went away after drinking water. On two occasions, I also experienced a bit of internal tension, similar to after having too much coffee.
Then I stopped having afternoon coffee, and that helped. By the end of the second week, I started to notice that I was reaching for chocolate less often after work. The craving for sweets didn’t disappear, but it became easier to wait and not act immediately.
By the third week, my energy during the day was more stable. I wouldn’t say I felt a surge of energy. Rather, I didn’t experience the familiar slump around 4 PM when I usually look for something sweet or more coffee.
During those six weeks, I also made some changes. I cooked more at home, reduced sugary drinks, and walked almost every day. Without this, I doubt I would have felt anything significant. By the end of the sixth week, the scale showed a moderate decrease, and my clothes fit a bit looser around the waist.
What I liked and what I didn’t
The ingredients were clear from the start: bitter orange, gymnema sylvestre, and L-carnitine. I was most cautious with bitter orange because I knew it could increase heart rate or anxiety in sensitive individuals. I limited my coffee to one cup in the morning and didn’t combine it with energy drinks.
Gymnema sylvestre seemed the most helpful for a calmer attitude towards sweets. L-carnitine didn’t give me a noticeable effect on its own, but I didn’t expect a miracle from a supplement. For me, it was part of the regimen, not something that would “burn” fat by itself.
- Slight dry feeling in the mouth at first.
- Brief nervousness on two occasions, especially with more coffee.
- Did not completely suppress hunger on days with little sleep.
- The effect was slow and easily negated by evening snacking.
- The small package is convenient to carry, but not enough for long-term use without planning.
There was also something that made me hesitant. Once, I had coffee later than usual, and that evening I had trouble falling asleep. I can’t say for sure that the supplement was the only reason, but I didn’t repeat that combination.
Who I think it is suitable for
In my opinion, Normcontrol is more suitable for an adult who is already ready to change their diet and is looking for modest support for appetite and daily energy. It works better for people who have the patience to wait weeks, not just two days. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting quick weight loss without dietary deficits and without exercise.
I personally would skip it during pregnancy, breastfeeding, uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart rhythm disorders, overactive thyroid, or severe anxiety. I also wouldn’t take it with monoamine oxidase inhibitors. If I experienced palpitations, severe headaches, chest pain, or serious insomnia, I would stop immediately and seek medical advice.
If I’m honest, Normcontrol wasn’t a miraculous solution. It was a small help for evening cravings and a smoother day, and only in combination with a better regimen did it give me visible results. I would buy it again, but only if I were in a period where I was already following a dietary plan and not overdoing it with coffee.
For me, it remained a supplement with moderate effects and clear boundaries. It didn’t disappoint me, but it also didn’t impress me enough to consider it a primary weight loss tool.
