Diaform+ is a dietary supplement in capsule form for supporting normal glucose levels. I tried it because I had borderline values and often felt heavy after meals, without wanting something that resembled medication. What I wanted most was fewer sudden fluctuations throughout the day.
The box I received had ten capsules, in white and purple, and the packaging clearly stated that it is a dietary supplement with natural ingredients. I was surprised that the text on the packaging was in English, even though I had it for use in Greece. I had to look at it a bit more closely for the dosage and milligrams. The main ingredients were also listed: olive leaf extract, L-arginine in hydrochloride form, and chromium.
How I took it in practice
I incorporated it into my routine without much experimentation. I took one capsule in the morning, always after breakfast, with a large glass of water. On the first day, I took it almost on an empty stomach and it caused a slight upset for about twenty minutes. On the second day, I adjusted it and didn’t feel that way again.
I used it for six weeks. I didn’t change the dose and didn’t improvise. I also set a small reminder on my phone because I forgot it twice during the first week. At the same time, I cut out one thing from my habits: sweets late at night. I mention this because I saw it as support and not as a magic button.
In practice, the first week didn’t give me anything clear. I might have felt a bit calmer in my stomach after lunch, but I still didn’t see it clearly. In the second week, I noticed that after heavier meals, I didn’t feel that intense drowsiness that usually sent me straight to the couch. It didn’t disappear, it just decreased.
In the third week, I saw the change that made sense to me: the afternoon cravings dropped a bit. I didn’t stop feeling hungry, but I no longer had that urgent feeling that pushed me towards the worst choices. By the fourth and fifth weeks, I felt more stable energy at the office. Some days I got through the afternoon without a second coffee, especially when I had eaten more balanced meals. I don’t attribute it solely to the supplement, but it certainly matched what I wanted from something with chromium and herbal extracts.
I also did two measurements at home with a glucose meter after meals and saw slightly milder peaks than my usual. The difference wasn’t huge. I wouldn’t call it a cure. It was a small help, and that’s the most honest thing I can say.
What bothered me
It didn’t cause me serious side effects, but it wasn’t completely invisible either. The downsides I noted were:
- a mild nausea if I took it without food, especially in the morning,
- a bit of bloating on some days, mainly when I had already eaten a lot of legumes or salads,
- a metallic taste in my mouth on two or three occasions, which lasted a little,
- the English packaging, which confused me at first.
I didn’t see anything spectacular in other areas that I didn’t expect to change. I didn’t notice any significant difference in vision or sexual function. I slept a bit better some nights, but that coincided with calmer weeks at work, so I won’t attribute it to this. The results, as far as they existed, were subtle. It requires patience.
Who I found it useful for
Diaform+ seemed useful for someone who is in a preventive phase or has mild fluctuations and wants gentle support along with a better eating routine. It also suits those who can maintain a consistent habit, because otherwise, the purpose is lost. I saw it clearly as a supplement, not as a replacement for diet or exercise.
I would leave it for those who have diagnosed diabetes and are already on medication without discussing it with their doctor. Glucose issues are not something for experimentation. Also, if someone has a sensitive stomach, it’s better to take it only after meals, because otherwise, it might upset them. For me, that was the most practical lesson.
I would take it again for periods when I know I will stray a bit with food and schedules, but I wouldn’t make it a permanent crutch. If I wanted something stronger, I would go to a doctor and not a supplement. With that in mind, my honest impression is simple: Diaform+ gave me slight stability in energy and cravings, without miracles and with a few minor annoyances if I didn’t take it correctly.
