I tried Glucadin as a dietary supplement in capsule form to support normal blood glucose levels. I chose it because of borderline sugar levels and mainly because I often felt drained after meals. I wanted a calmer reaction after a larger dinner or after eating something sweet.

My package was small, only ten capsules, so I didn’t expect a long test like with a larger monthly supply. I took one capsule in the morning after breakfast. I didn’t try it on an empty stomach because some supplements can upset my stomach, and I didn’t want to add unnecessary problems on the first day.

I quickly discovered one practical thing. It’s better to take the capsule with a good glass of water. Once, I took it with just a few sips, and I had an uncomfortable feeling as if it had stuck in my throat for a moment. It lasted about ten minutes and wasn’t dramatic, but I wouldn’t want to experience that at work. Since then, I’ve automatically poured more water with it.

I read the ingredients at home, not at the shelf. Glucadin is based on a combination of plant extracts and minerals: blueberry fruit extract, myrciaria dubia fruit extract, astragalus root extract, zinc, and chromium. I liked that it doesn’t contain stimulants. At the same time, I reminded myself that it’s a dietary supplement, not a registered medicine, so I approached it soberly and didn’t expect it to fix my diet for me.

The first few days were ordinary. Almost boring. I wrote short notes about how I felt after eating, and occasionally measured my sugar at home with a glucometer, mainly after pasta, bread, or meals where I expected a bigger fluctuation. I didn’t measure every day, so I don’t want to draw any laboratory conclusions from that. It was my reference check, and alongside that, I paid more attention to portion sizes.

In the first week, I didn’t notice a clear difference. By the second week, I noticed a change after lunch. Normally, I would sometimes be hit by such sudden drowsiness that I felt like lying down for ten minutes, but this time I remained functional. It wasn’t a surge of energy. Rather, the drop was missing. That was more valuable to me than any feeling of a
