Prostatricum is a dietary supplement in capsule form containing plant extracts, lycopene, and zinc. I tried it because I was frequently disturbed by the urge to urinate in the evening and the feeling of not having completely emptied my bladder. My goal was to have quieter nights without the constant trips to the bathroom.

My package contained 30 capsules in a dark blue bottle with a red cap. The ingredients listed saw palmetto extract, sunflower extract, ginkgo extract, lycopene, and zinc. I took one capsule every day, usually after breakfast with a large glass of water, as this routine suited me best.

How I took it

The capsule was not large, but it felt a bit dry. Once, it got stuck in my throat uncomfortably without enough water. The smell when opening the bottle was herbal and slightly bitter. Not terrible, but also not something I looked forward to.

In the first week, I didn’t notice anything at all. This was initially disappointing, as the discomfort continued to annoy me during that time. I still got up once or twice at night, and the first trip in the morning was still quite urgent.

Starting from the second week, I experienced a slight queasiness in my stomach on two days. It lasted about an hour after breakfast and then went away. When I took the capsule not with coffee but after a small breakfast, it became hardly an issue. I can’t prove a definite connection, but for me, the adjustment was practical.

What I noticed after a few weeks

Around the third week, I noticed a small change. The urge to urinate late in the evening seemed less frantic. I no longer had to jump up suddenly and could usually finish my TV evening calmly. That may sound minor, but it was significantly noticeable in my daily life.

The nights did not immediately become consistently calm. On some nights, I still got up, especially if I had drunk a lot of tea in the evening. However, after about four weeks, there were more nights when I only needed to go to the bathroom early in the morning. That was the clearest benefit of Prostatricum for me.

Even during urination itself, the stream felt a bit more even. I experienced less of that brief wait before it started. The problem was not completely gone. If I was stressed or had drunk alcohol late, the old issues practically returned. The capsules did not balance my lifestyle.

I did not notice any reliable increase in energy or changes in libido. I hadn’t set much hope on that, as my main issue was the urge to urinate. After six weeks, my impression was therefore mixed but rather positive: the discomfort was not gone, just easier to manage.

However, a few things still bothered me:

  • The herbal-bitter smell from the bottle was something I had to get used to.
  • On an empty stomach, I felt a slight queasiness.
  • I really had to take it daily; otherwise, I could hardly assess the effect.
  • In cases of strong urgency after drinking a lot, it did not help me in the short term.

I took Prostatricum for a total of six weeks and needed a second bottle for that. After the first 30 days, I didn’t want to judge yet, as the change only became noticeable for me later. In weeks five and six, the results remained similar. It did not get better day by day, but the calmer evenings continued.

I would rather recommend it to men who have mild, long-standing issues with urination and want to patiently try whether a herbal supplement helps them personally. Those expecting immediate effects will likely be disappointed. In cases of severe pain, blood in urine, fever, suddenly severely worsened urinary flow, or new complaints, I would not rely on capsules. I would also be cautious with blood thinners or if one is sensitive to herbal extracts, due to the ginkgo extract.

For me, Prostatricum was not a substitute for a prostate examination. I would only see it as support, not as a solution for every problem.

Yes, I would probably buy Prostatricum again if the mild issues returned and there was nothing serious behind it medically. I would take it again in the morning after eating and give it at least four weeks. I do not expect miracles from it, but I had fewer restless evenings and somewhat better nights.

My conclusion: Prostatricum helped me slowly and rather subtly with the urge to urinate, but it remained a support and not a solution for every prostate problem.
