I tried Iceberg Therapy as a more nourishing cosmetic cream for the delicate skin around my eyes, on my neck, and décolletage. I was bothered by dry lines under my eyes and the morning feeling of tight skin, so I was mainly looking for hydration and a slightly more comfortable appearance.

I used it for six weeks, both morning and evening after my usual skin cleansing. For the area around both eyes, a quantity about the size of half a pea was sufficient, and I applied a bit more on my neck. At first, I spread it between my ring fingers because I didn’t like the cold cream straight from the jar on the thin skin under my eyes, and then I gently tapped it in from the inner corner outwards.

The texture felt more dense and nourishing than like a light gel. It didn’t absorb immediately, but that didn’t bother me in the evening. In the morning, I waited a bit before continuing with other cosmetics, as otherwise, the layers could sometimes flake slightly near my nose. It wasn’t a major issue, just something that slowed me down when I was in a hurry.

What I really noticed about it

The first week was almost unchanged. My skin felt nicer after applying it, but I had experienced a similar feeling with other thicker creams. In the second week, I noticed the first thing that made sense to me: after washing my face in the morning, I didn’t have dry flakes forming under my eyes.

After about three weeks, the fine lines under my eyes looked less pronounced, especially when my skin was well-hydrated. They didn’t disappear. The concealer didn’t settle into them as much, and the area around my eyes didn’t look so wrinkled. I noticed the biggest difference in the morning after a night when I had drunk enough water and used the cream in the evening.

On my neck, I mainly appreciated the softer feeling. The skin felt smoother to the touch and less tight after showering. I applied it irregularly on my décolletage, so I wouldn’t dare to evaluate the results there honestly. When I skipped it for a few evenings, the dryness under my eyes returned faster than I expected. For me, this meant one thing: the effect relied mainly on consistency.

What was annoying about using it

Not everything suited me without reservations. I noted a few minor things right away:

  • If I used too much cream, a light film remained under my eyes, and my eyelids looked shiny in the morning.
  • In the first few days, I felt a brief warmth around my eyes after application, which passed within a minute.
  • On very damp skin, it was harder for other products to layer on, and they occasionally flaked.
  • It didn’t change deeper wrinkles or a looser facial contour in any way.

I had sensitive skin, so I first tried it in a small amount on the side of my neck. I didn’t experience any redness or pimples. However, I would still proceed cautiously with reactive skin, as even skincare products can sometimes not suit someone. If I experienced burning, significant itching, or swelling, I would stop using the cream and consult a dermatologist in case of severe or prolonged irritation.

In the ingredients, I mainly noticed moisturizing and caring substances commonly used for drier and more mature skin. Hyaluronic acid is meant to bind moisture, aloe vera juice soothes the skin, shea and cocoa butter provide nourishment, and it is complemented by a carbohydrate isomer with dexpanthenol, which is provitamin B5. To me, it felt like a cream focused mainly on skin comfort and a smoother appearance, not something that would change facial features overnight.

I would recommend Iceberg Therapy to someone who has drier skin around the eyes, fine lines from dehydration, or wants a more nourishing cream for the neck and décolletage. It suited me as the last step in my evening routine and in a small amount under my morning makeup. I would recommend it less to people with very oily skin around the eyes or those who want a completely undetectable gel feel. I didn’t expect any strong effect on deep wrinkles, and I didn’t get one either.

I would buy it again, but more as a regular moisturizing cream for the area around my eyes rather than as a sole anti-aging product. It helped me the most with dryness and the morning appearance of my skin, less with firmness. If I were to be completely honest, it worked well for me, but only with patient and moderate use.
