Dermefface FX7 is a topical scar reduction serum that I used on a few flat scars that still looked shiny in certain light. I tried it because the marks were not painful or raised, but they kept catching my eye when I changed shirts or stood under bright bathroom lighting. My goal was simple: make the surface look smoother and less obvious.

I treated it like a cosmetic serum rather than a medical treatment. The bottle pumps out the product, and I used one pump per scar twice a day most days for a little over seven weeks. My routine was boring on purpose: morning after a shower, then again at night after washing. I did not combine it with strong skincare on the same areas because I wanted to judge it on its own.

The texture took some getting used to. It was not greasy, but it did leave a slightly tacky film for a few minutes. On work mornings, that mattered more than I expected, especially on the scar near my shoulder where a T-shirt would drag if I dressed too quickly. When I used too much, it also pilled under moisturiser or sunscreen, so a thin layer worked better for me than trying to load it on.

The first week was uneventful. Nothing looked different, and if I had expected a quick change, I would have been annoyed. What I did notice was more of a coated, sealed feeling on the skin after applying it. One small scar felt mildly warm for about 30 seconds after rubbing it in, so I stopped massaging hard and just spread it lightly. That solved it.

By the end of the second week, I started to see the first real sign of progress. The edge of my most noticeable scar looked less crisp, almost like the transition into normal skin had softened. It was not dramatic. Under harsh bathroom downlights, I could still see it clearly. Near a window in normal daylight, though, it blended a little better.

Weeks three and four were the best stretch for me. The main improvement was shine. That slick scar reflection reduced, which made the area look less like a separate patch sitting on top of my skin. When I ran a finger over it, the surface felt closer to the surrounding skin too. I also used it on a newer lingering mark along my jawline, and that seemed to calm faster, although I cannot honestly say the serum was the only reason because those marks can fade anyway.

After about week five, the progress slowed down. I kept using Dermefface FX7 because the routine was easy enough, but the changes became smaller. My shoulder scar responded better than the older scar on my chest. The chest scar looked a bit smoother and reflected less light, but the colour difference stayed. If my main concern had been pigmentation, I would have been disappointed.

The annoyances were not deal-breakers, but they were real:

  • It stayed tacky for a few minutes, so I had to wait before putting clothing over it.
  • Too much product caused pilling when I layered moisturiser or sunscreen.
  • When my skin was dry, it stung lightly for about a minute.
  • It did not do much for colour mismatch on my older scars.

Application made a bigger difference than I expected. If I rushed and slapped it on, it sat on the skin and felt like residue. If I warmed it between my fingers and spread a thin layer, it settled better and the sticky phase was shorter. I also had to wash my hands after using it because the leftover film on my fingertips smeared my phone screen. A tiny thing, but I noticed it every time.

What it did not do was erase anything. One scar has a slight dip, and Dermefface FX7 did not fill that in. It also did not make my older scars match the surrounding skin tone. The best way I can describe my result is that the scars became quieter. I still knew they were there, but I stopped checking them as much.

I think it suits someone with flat scars that look shiny, smooth, or a little rough around the edges. It also makes sense if you are patient enough to use a topical product consistently for several weeks. I would not pick it for fast results, deep indentation, strong redness, or dark pigmentation as the main issue. If your skin reacts easily, I would patch it cautiously first, especially if your skin barrier is already dry or irritated.

Would I buy it again? Yes, for the right type of scar. I would not expect a transformation, and I would not use it thinking it was a regulated scar medicine. For me, Dermefface FX7 made flat scars look less shiny and slightly smoother over several weeks, which was enough to make it worth finishing.
